ERGO Insurance Group

The sole shareholder of ERGO's companies in the Baltic States is ERGO International AG, which is part of the ERGO Insurance Group.

ERGO is one of Germany and Europe’s leading insurance companies, serving more than 40 million clients in 30 countries in Europa and Asia.

The company is one of the leading insurance firms in the Baltic States, and has strengthened its position in Poland. The turnover of the ERGO group in 2009 was 19 billion euros.

ERGO is Europe’s biggest provider of insurance for private health care and legal aid costs. The group’s best-known insurance companies are DKV, D.A.S and ERV. From those D.A.S is operating in Estonia by name D.A.S Õigusabikulude Kindlustuse AS.

The shareholder in the ERGO Insurance Group is the Munich Re Grupp,one of the world’s largest insurance concerns, founded in 1880. Munich Re’s annual turnover in 2009 surpassed 41.4 billion euros, with a consolidated profit of 2,5 billion euros.

The ERGO Insurance Group employs over 50 000 full-time positions.
