Legal assistance insurance

Legal assistance insurance will help you stand up for your legal rights and avoid situations where you yourself have to pay for injustices you have suffered.

In each insurance event, rather than you being compensated personally, up to 8000 euros in compensation will be provided to cover the following costs:
  • lawyers’ fees,
  • fees for witnesses and forensic experts,
  • state fees and other court costs,
  • the court costs of the other party in a case if the court rules that you must pay them,
  • your travel costs in attending court cases in other countries where your presence is required, as well as any translation or interpreting costs, and
  • enforcement costs.
As such, the insurance policy covers the payment of costs arising from making claims against the other party in a case, be they the individual who caused a traffic accident, the owner of a leased apartment, an employer, an insurance company or anyone else.

There is no limit to the number of insurance events for which claims can be made per year. If required, D.A.S. will provide an interest-free loan of up to 8000 euros for posting bail.
