Liability insurance
Why take out personal liability insurance?
Liability insurance helps to cope with property damage accidentally caused by you or your family members to other persons, for which you are liable under the law.
Liability insurance can only be taken out together with ERGO home insurance.
Under liability insurance, we offer the following coverages:
- Homeowner’s liability insurance, which covers liability related to the ownership or possession of the real estate located at the insured location address specified in the home insurance policy.
- Private individual’s general liability insurance, which covers liability defined by the insurance terms for which you are legally responsible. Among other things, the private individual’s general liability insurance covers your liability as a pet owner or keeper, as a pedestrian, or as a cyclist.
NB! The private individual’s general liability insurance coverage does not apply to a policyholder / insured person that is a legal entity, nor to a tenant of the insured location if the tenant is not the policyholder.
The liability insurance coverage valid under the insurance contract is specified in the policy.
Liability insurance is essentially all-risk insurance, i.e., what is not excluded in the insurance terms and conditions is protected. Therefore, before concluding an insurance contract, it is very important to familiarise yourself with the insurance terms and conditions, and especially the exclusions in them.
